Rihanna Talks About 2010 Grammy Awards

Rihanna attending Grammys without Matt

Rihanna made it official yesterday on the Valentine in the Morning show that she will be going alone to the show. With her statement, “I’m going to the Grammys alone, as always,” said Rihanna. “I’m still single, if that’s what you really want to ask!” So does this kill the rumors that Rihanna and Kemp are a couple or not?

Dodger Matt Kemp’s insider source tells E! News that “the negative publicity he’s received over the last couple weeks.” With all the spotlight on him and Chris Brown being compared. “He wouldn’t want to take anything away from her having a perfect evening.” 
Hopefully, we will see them together again next weekend in Miami at the Super Bowl.

Grammy Producer Talks Rihanna

The Grammy Awards will take center stage on Sunday and show producer Ken Ehrlich told Access Hollywood the show has nothing but love for Rihanna, despite what she recently told Carson Daly.

On Wednesday, Rihanna told 97.1 AMP radio DJ Carson Daly that she won’t performing this year.

“We messed their show up pretty bad last year,” she said, referring to when she was forced to back out of the show in 2009 after being beaten the night before by then-boyfriend Chris Brown. “They might be a little mad at me.”

But Ken said the Grammys adore the pop star.

“How can you be mad at Rihanna? Rihanna is a lovely person. No, we’re not mad at her.” Ken told Access on Thursday. “We actually talked about possibly doing something this year… I think probably next year will be Rihanna’s year.”

In more Grammy news, Ken shot down rumors that Michael Jackson’s children would be performing on Sunday, saying, “Don’t know where that came from and [I] really don’t have anything to say about it.”

Ken also told Access that as of Thursday he did not know if Jackson’s children would be attending Sunday’s show.

In related news, during an interview on “Valentine in the Morning” on 104.3 MY FM on Thursday, Rihanna said she’s still waiting to receive her Grammy statue for her 2008 win.

“I still haven’t gotten my Grammy for ‘Umbrella’…something to do with the shipping,” Rihanna explained. “I don’t know what’s going on. I don’t know if it’s them or they sent it to the wrong person. They probably want to send it to the label.”

The singer also revealed in the interview that she plans on flying solo on Sunday – despite being recently photographed on vacation in Mexico with baseball player Matt Kemp.

“I’m going to the Grammys alone, as always!” she said. “Even when I was in a relationship, I always have gone alone… I’m still single, if that’s what you really want to ask!”

Rihanna Talks About Jasmina

Jasmina Amena, the 7-year-old fan who Ri had been helping to find a bone marrow transplant, died from leukemia last night. Rihanna has spent a lot of time with Jasmina over the past year.

A personal Note from Rihanna:

“I am incredibly heartbroken that Jasmina has passed away. She was such a brave and special child. She showed more strength and spirit than many adults I have met. I feel blessed that I was able to have her in my life, and know that through her example she has saved many lives. She was truly an angel on earth.”

Rihanna On The Ellen DeGeneres Show Preview

The “Russian Roulette” singer appeared on an episode of the Ellen DeGeneres Show Monday which will air on February 1st. While talking about her “approximately 13″ tattoos, for instance, Rihanna revealed that she isn’t dating…

“It reads, ‘Never a failure, always a lesson.’ Basically saying, It’s OK to make a mistake, just don’t make them twice.”

Which, naturally, leads to questions about her current status.

“Are you dating anyone now?” inquires Ellen.

“No, I’m single,” replies Rihanna.

“Really? What about the guy we keep seeing you with?” asks a surprised Ellen, referring to L.A. Dodgers outfielder Matt Kemp, who was recently spotted frolicking with the pop star in Mexico.

To which Rihanna simply answers with a laugh.

Rihanna reveals concept for ‘Rude Boy’ video

Rihanna recently opened up about what fans can expect from her forthcoming music video, ‘Rude Boy’. Whilst people speculated that it would be similar to her other raunchy videos for the previous “Rated R” singles, the singer herself assured fans it will be different. She told Carson Daly on his Amp Radio show:

“It’s completely different from any other video I’ve shot before. A lot of my videos are really dark and edgy and tough. ‘Rude Boy’ is more playing along the lines from my roots. We used a lot of color, but also the costumes were very Jamaican dance-hall queen type.” 

The video is directed by Melina Matsoukas (the Hard director) and reportedly will be premiered in early February.
