“So the Guinness Book of World Records is known for including some completed feats that are just so strange and weird that you have to wonder HOW the record-setter even came up with it. That being said, I’m sure you’re wondering what Britney Spears, for example, could have possibly done to make it into this upcoming year’s book. Did she juggle the most number of knives during her Circus tour performance? No, but she did sell more than 37-million albums before turning 20 – making her officially the all-time best-selling teenage artist. Plus, Britney is the youngest female artist to have 5 of her albums reach number-1.

And now I bet you’re wondering what on earth Rihanna could have done to be making it into the Guinness Book for 2010. Well, this singer had about 2.5-million oversea downloads of her hit-single ‘Umbrella’ from 05 to 08, earning her the title of ‘Best Selling Download Female Artist in the UK’.
And the last Tinseltown star to make it into the book is Katy Perry as having the best start on the US Digital Chart by a Female Artist with her tracks ‘Hot N Cold’ and ‘I Kissed a Girl’ selling 2-million copies.

Rihanna Picks Her Favorite Song And Artist Of 2009
Last week, we detailed Rihanna’s rather, uh, eventful year when we named her our #3 Woman of 2009. It started in February with her assault at the hands of then-boyfriend Chris Brown, and culminated in the release of her most adventurous album yet, the dark and artful Rated R. Along the way, she overcame adversity and reclaimed her title as one of the biggest acts in the world and, perhaps most notable of all, she inspired millions with her strength and spirit.
But what inspired her? When we caught up with Rihanna on the set of her just-released “Hard” video, we decided to find out. She let us in her world, revealing the song that served as the soundtrack for her year, and the artist who she idolized the most in ‘09.

The Barbadian singer who became ubiquitous for her summer smash “Umbrella” in 2007 quickly became a pop star and fashion world muse. All the better for UNICEF, the international children’s aid organization which tapped the musical wonder girl to be the face of its first campaign highlighting its collaboration with Gucci in 2008. The campaign became something of a viral hit, generating more than 1 million results on the Internet. Previously Rihanna had performed at one of UNICEF’s fundraisers, which culminated in $5.5 million in donations. “We have a celebrity, a very famous face, together with the entire organization of UNICEF and Gucci,” said Gucci’s creative director. “With those three elements together, we want to surprise people, to impact people’s hearts.” Rihanna also created The Believe Foundation in 2006 to help needy children.
